“Oh what fun it is!”

Sweet Potato Biscuits in the Making!

Sweet Potato Biscuits in the Making!

It is hard to believe today is December 20th!  My Holidays orders have been filled, record amount of stew made, and I have been catering and filling special orders each day.  Thank you so much for all of your support.  It is true, I might be tired every so often, my hair might be frosted with flour, and I really might want a shower and to get out of kitchen clothes, but I love what I am doing and it really is so much fun.

Next year I am excited about doing a few different things with my Dinner Pick Ups on Wednesdays, and the first three months of the year will have a little ‘theme’ to them.  January I will be kickin’ it up a notch and I’ll feature more elegant, gourmet meals.  February will be Family Style, with one week being an Italian family style and another week Southern Family style.  In March I will be travelling the globe and picking some neat traditional meals from far away places, including a stop in Ireland for a fun St. Patrick’s Day treat.

So, I’ll leave you with this, consider it my holiday “e-card” for those of you that follow.  I hope you have a very Merry Christmas filled with the Peace and Hope that is the meaning of Christmas.  Especially when there is so much to get done, and so much sadness in the news, there is still so much to be thankful for.  Relish your time with family and friends, as you enjoy festive foods and Holiday cheer together.  Sharing this with the people we love is really a gift itself.

Laughing all the way!

laughing all the way

It is true, sometimes you have to laugh instead of cry.  For instance, when I dropped Brunswick Stew all over the kitchen floor this morning, including my shoes.  Like yesterday when I had 30 minutes to finish cutting fresh fruit for 60 people, and when I cut into the melons, two were rotten!  Quickly I ran to Harris Teeter, and paid triple the price for two more, but the good news is everything was finished and the fruit was sweet and looked great!  So much of life is about our attitude when things don’t work out perfectly, isn’t it?  Two little things is really nothing to complain about at all.

Speaking of complaining, if you need any help for Christmas because you don’t love to cook, be sure to look at the Santa’s helper page.  Orders must be in by next Saturday which is only 6 days away.  Order today while there is still time and space!

All gone…

Thank you for your many orders of Brunswick Stew for December!  I am sold out thanks to so many of you, and I have all the orders I can fill.  I make a soup or stew almost every time I do a Dinner Pick up, and I will be doing another very popular soup of mine in early January, Italian White Bean with Sausage and Winter Greens, among others that month.  As they say, “Soup’s On!”
